Elfquest Re-read: Issues 10 and 11

Elfquest starts a new story arc with issue #6, set several years after the close of #5, and the subtitle reveals that #1-5 were just the prologue to the titular quest. It opens with Savah, the Mother of Memory, searching the psychic void and finding … a faint touch from something or someone.
I noticed more visual description in the book than I usually find in the novels I read, and I wonder if that’s due to its comic origins – setting the stage in a highly visual manner as you would draw an establishing panel – or just me seeing it more because I know the comics already?
I was introduced to Elfquest about 1980 in Bobbie’s Books, the local used bookstore which doubled as Bryan, TX’s only comic store at the time.
