So far…so good…so wha- wait! Everything´s fine with me but Nina Hagen for Germany? Aw c´mon, you could have chosen Christa Päffgen aka Nico instead. We deserve better than UFO-Mysticism and covers of songs by the Tubes done mediocre. We deserve a woman that fits labels like ‘International Diva’ as well as ‘genuine german angst’ and ‘heroin(e)’.

Nico’s great; I have several of her albums. But I was just feeling in a Hagen mood, I guess.
And holy crap, there’s already twice as many people who have downloaded this as who downloaded the last death mix in a matter of weeks.
Nobody loves the death metal like they should. Sigh.
“Can the world be as sad as it seems?” Oh, talking of ‘Death Metal’…I love these guys from France a lot: http://www.e-c-h-o-e-s.com/ban/ You´re not alone…
Blut aus nord is awesome…but they’re black metal, not death metal.
I am alone….except for Bert.
I’ve never been able to get into Olga. Her voice is annoyingly flat. Surely there’s better examples out there of her genre. I wish I could name them, but latino radio never seems to name the artists in their broadcasts….
Sheesh, everybody’s a critic. I quite like Olga Tanon, but you could see if you preferred another artist from my merengue download from a few weeks back.
Oh, you´re right in both ways. Sorry. Guess that makes me one of those “struggling, debased monstrosities”. Sigh…but at least I try.
It’s been years and years since I’ve bothered to pay attention to her. For the most part at least back then she seemed to be a shouter more than a singer. Which maybe in some cases is not a problem but in her case it sounded particularly cringeworthy. Maybe she’s better now?
I don’t think she’s a shouter…I have a couple of albums and liked both, anyway…?
I mean…she has a certain level of hog-calling power, but that doesn’t necessarily put me off a singer….
Yma Sumac is really awesome! I’d never heard her music before. Thanks for posting this, Noah!
You’re welcome! Happy new year!
