  1. That’s a great song, but I find that I like the Incredibles best in small doses, otherwise its twee qualities kind of overwhelm me. Ex-member Clive Palmer’s band C.O.B. (for “Clive’s Original Band”) was pretty great too. Here’s an old favorite:

  2. Yeah. The 80s had so many great indie bands. I was very impressed with some dBs that I heard last month.

    Stew- Black Men Ski

    Tommy McLain- Sweet Dreams

For the past several months I’ve been trudging through the various Rhino Records “Nuggets” anthologies. Not enamored with a lot of it, but one set I really did like was Love Is the Song We Sing: San Francisco Nuggets 1965-70. Some absolutely magical songs on there. I don’t know enough about fifties rock to comment, but for post-1965 that set definetly makes the case for late-sixties San Fran as having the best rock scene ever. Most of it should be on Youtube.

  3. Some “unofficial” Dylan releases at the moment. Other things recently: Bonzo Dog Band, Tom Waits, Rolling Stones, Steve Earle.
